| We save lives by making
transfusion possible. Carter BloodCare is the primary provider of blood
components and transfusion services for approximately 300 Texas health care
facilities. These facilities include our region's children's hospitals, central
trauma centers, major cancer centers, and
transplant centers. Carter BloodCare is guided by the philosophy that community
blood donations should benefit community patients, and that blood centers must
be responsive to the community that supports them. Carter BloodCare's board of
directors is made of local leaders, including medical professionals, hospital
administrators, business and civic leaders. Our highest priority is meeting the
needs of the community. |

| The Dallas 24 Hour Club is a registered 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides housing, support and guidance for men and women who are in trouble with alcohol and drugs and who have a desire to achieve sobriety and get thier lives re-started again in a positive manner at little or no cost to the taxpayer! The 24 Hour Club was founded in 1969 in a donated office space; this space was for alcoholics to have a place to meet 24 hours per day, hence the name. It has been located in the East Dallas area for over 37 years and has been located at 4636 Ross Avenue for over 18 years. We are just 6 blocks east of the New Arts District in Downtown Dallas. It is our goal to introduce these men and women into the larger recovery community and into independent living. The Club is not a boarding house, nor is it a rehabilitation center or a medical facility. Rather, the Club seeks to facilitate recovery through adherence to the practices and principles of a 12-step program which has saved many lives, careers and families. We suggest anyone heavily intoxicated, MUST first go to a medical detox facility BEFORE trying to gain admission here. We do not ?sober-up? anyone here, we are the next step after rehab and after detox. |
Civic leaders established Irving Healthcare Foundation (IHF) as a public charity in 1977 to raise funds for nonprofit healthcare in Irving. To date, more than $32 million has been disbursed to our nonprofit beneficiaries. Our primary recipient is Baylor Medical Center at Irving (formerly Irving Community
Hospital). Since 1977, more than $25 million in philanthropic funds raised
during campaigns have helped Irving's only nonprofit hospital to meet Irving's
medical needs. | |
